Winter Family Day
Saturday January 27 at 9:30
Hello everyone,
As planned, we will be holding our Winter Day on January 27th.
We will meet in the morning at 9:30 am, to hit the trails at 10:00, on the lake around Gino and Geneviève's dock for the skiers and in front of their house, at 1123 Notre-Dame Road North, for the snowshoeers. We will form groups according to everyone’s abilities. Of course the children are welcome!
Then we will gather around 12:00 at Alex and Jayne's house, 1095 chemin Notre-Dame Nord, to warm up and share a potluck lunch.
Finally the supper will be held at La Cage -Brasserie Sportive in St. Sauveur at 5:45 pm (75, ave De La Gare). It is one of the few restaurants that could accommodate our large group. Please RSVP by email to the Lake Association at:

Important public consultation
Modifications to our Urban plan
The municipal urban plan is an important tool impacting all kinds of key issues for all residents like rentals, protection of trails, environment protection, etc.
Since September 2022, the urban plan has been undergoing a formal review process and now the first version of the proposed changes will be presented to residents by our Director of Urbanism Mr. Benoit Cadieux on Dec. 9, 2023 at 13:00 at the Laurel Community Centre at 3470, route Principale, Wentworth-Nord.
You can also attend this meeting virtually by Zoom!
The Urban plan is an important document and is one that directly impacts our living environment as well as the nature which surrounds us.
Be informed about what is happening! This is also your opportunity to give input and help drive change.

Public Petition
Hello
Below is the link to a public petition launched by 5 residents of Lac Notre-Dame. The approach is supported by the Executive of our association and, for the moment, the Lac Noiret association. We are waiting for responses from two other lake associations (Saint-François-Xavier and Lac Saint-Victor).
https://forms.gle/M8kBnc6yDMJPhUZx8
We ask for your quick signature and invite you to share this online petition with as many of your friends or neighbors as possible.
This petition is motivated by:
the acceleration of integrated housing development projects - including the last one (Dumont) on the heights of Lake Notre-Dame (north side) and Lake Thurson (38 houses in two phases, with new access road) - which we believe threaten the environment, tranquility and road safety throughout the Montfort sector.
the late-stage negotiation of a land exchange by the municipality that will open the door to this Dumont project.
The petition aims in particular to obtain a moratorium on such projects until the time the municipality's urban plan is updated, a ban on short-term rentals and a broader application by the municipality of the public consultation mechanisms provided for in the Policy governing the public consultation process upstream of projects.
Thank you for your essential cooperation
Diane Turcotte, Chris Teron, André Lauzon, Patricia Healy and Anne Pélouas

Please wash your boats!
If you take any of your boats to another lake, please make sure you wash them at the Monfort Washing station before putting them back into our lake. As Exotic Invasive Species of plants are unfortunately proliferating in Quebec, we have to take maximum precautions to avoid them getting into LND. Once these plants are introduced into a body of water, they are almost impossible to eradicate and multiply at a tremendous rate. They make swimming and boating quite difficult and greatly reduce property values.
As well, for those who are buying a dock, please ensure that the people delivering the dock have washed their trailer and their motor before putting the dock into the water.
We all need to work together to keep our lake as pristine as possible.
